Feeding Ministry - Igreja Batista Missionaria
March 21, 2008
Tonight we had the Living Bread service at Igreja Batista Missionaria (IBM) in Vila Cefer. It was a blessing to be a part of this ministry. Many of the families receiving the food are the families of the children who come to the Tuesday afternoon Bible study. After a worship service where Dr. Phillips preached the Gospel we distributed 30 food kits. It brings me such joy to see the smiles on the faces of the mothers and children when they receive the food. The Lord is using these feeding ministries to meet basic needs and to reach people with the Gospel.
I also have a huge praise. As I shared the other day our van driver, Daniel, accepted Christ. Before the service today we went on visitations and Evangelizing the area around the church. Rather than waiting in the van Daniel went with us. He joined us in prayer at each house and even helped with some interpreting. Later during the service he was setting up chairs and ministering to needs among the people. We have invited his wife and son to join our group and all the Pastors for lunch tomorrow and they plan to come. What a blessing to see him getting involved with our ministry right away.
I'll post pictures from today on our photo site photos.living-bread.org
Thank you all for your prayers and support. We have our big Easter celebration with all three churches tomorrow night and we will leave Sunday morning for the US. Our time has flown by. Tomorrow night will be a late night so I may not get to post anymore until my final trip update when we return home on Monday. Please keep us in your prayers. God bless.
