Good News From Paraguay

June 27, 2008

Things are going very well here in Paraguay.  We have continued to meet with several American missionaries from various agencies.  We just finished meeting with CMA missionaries that have been here for 8 years and I am expecting a call any minute from the Field Director with ABWE.  Tomorrow we will be meeting with a Paraguayan Pastor who is in leadership with Paraguayan Baptist Convention.  We are very excited by the response and encouragement we have been receiving.  It seems that Paraguay is ripe for a movement based on the vision God has given LBM.

Our meeting yesterday with the escribano (similar to a court clerk) went very well.  Barring any major problems we should be legally established and ready to begin working here by the end of the year.  We will need to establish an advisory board of directors here so pray for guidance in this area.  Also, pray for the finances to set everything up with the government; it will cost US$400.00 (at todays exchange rate) and it may require a return trip for the final paperwork.

I wanted to post a picture of the beautiful Presidential Home
but it was raining today and I couldn't get one.

Now we need the Lord to move on churches and individuals to provide the financial partnerships we need to begin planting churches in 2009, among the poor in Paraguay.  Also, we need the support for Pastor Magioli to lead Living Bread Ministries in Brazil and the new works we have ahead of us in Porto Alegre, Brazil.  This will allow Barbara and I to focus more on building LBM in Paraguay.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support.  God bless.
