Feeding Ministry Update

July 5, 2008

I hope everyone back home had a nice July 4th yesterday.  Here in Brazil we had made some plans to celebrate, but decided not to since Barbara and her mom were at the hospital with Enio.  It turned out to be a good idea because Barbara has been sick since last night.  Please pray for her recovery and that the rest of us don't catch what she has since we leave on Tuesday heading home.

In June I shared the need we have with the feeding ministry.  Due to the rise in food prices here in Brazil we were faced with reducing the amount of families our church plants are helping with food kits.  Thanks to some one time gifts and an increase in monthly support we have been able to keep the number of families the same through the end of the year.  Praise the Lord!

In order to have a long term solution for the feeding ministry we still need to raise US$150.00 per month.  This will allow us to budget accordingly for next year.  Also, please remember that we are only able to do a feeding ministry because we are planting churches in these communities.  Without the church plants the feeding ministry would not exist.  So, when you support church planting you are supporting all the outreach ministries from the various churches.  These include feeding, clothing, medicine, school supplies, and homeless, children's, and women's ministries, among others.
