January 2009 Update

Good Morning,
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. As we are gearing up for 2009 I thought I would share what we are currently working on and a few prayer requests.
I am currently getting our 2008 accounting records together to be reviewed by an independent accountant so that LBM can join the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. I am excited for LBM to go through this process and be recognized as a ministry with the highest level of financial responsibility. It is somewhat expensive as the application fee is $350 and then there is an annual fee based on revenues, however it is important to show our current and future partners that their investment in LBM in being handled with the utmost integrity.
We are also planning a trip to Brazil and Paraguay in February. While in Brazil we will be working on several issues that we have been preparing for. We have been able to raise the money to support Pastor Magioli for 1 year, so Lord willing we will be able to finalize his position as the Executive Director of LBM of Brazil. We have not raised the money to pay Brazil's version of the payroll tax, but we plan to move ahead trusting the Lord to provide that as well. Also, we will be meeting with a candidate to pastor Igreja Batista Viva.
We will be using airline miles to go to Paraguay from Brazil which is a real blessing. While in Paraguay we will be meeting with Pastor Amarilla and other potential Board members. We will also be looking at various potential areas for a church plant and meeting with some American missionaries in Paraguay. We are taking our time and seeing how the Lord would have us to proceed in Paraguay. I don't want to get ahead of the Lord, so please be in prayer for wisdom for this trip.
One need we have is for vaccinations. We need $500 worth of shots and Malaria pills. We are praying that the Lord will provide for this very important need.
