Igreja Batista Missionária of Porto Alegre is continuing Green Light for Jesus in 2009.  This is a great project which takes place monthly during the evening in the streets of Porto Alegre.  Its purpose is to evangelize the people who beg in the traffic intersections and offer them physical bread.  All of the volunteers share God’s word and pray for those who are approached.  In this way, the church is maturing and learning to spread God's Word.  During this month’s project, we were able not only to evangelize but to also counsel two young men who were begging for money in order to purchase crack.  After talking and praying with the church members the young men went home with a portion of God’s Word in their lives and did not stay behind to purchase the drugs.  Many others were evangelized that night. 

This is just one of the many outreach ministries LBM is equipping our church plants to do in order to minister both spiritually and physically in their communities.
