Update on the New Church in Vila Safira

As you know last month we began two new churches in southern Brazil. One in the community of Vila Safira, and the other in the community of Bom Jesus. Today I want to share an update on the work in Vila Safira. The Lord has been blessing us greatly.
We are currently meeting in the home of a new believer. Pastor Jocelito is leading two services a week and a Bible study. We have 10 to 12 people attending these services. To accommodate the group we are adding a room to the little house that we are meeting in. Below is a picture of the house.
We are very excited that the Lord has raised up a couple in Brazil to buy a small lot that we will build a chapel on in the coming months. This will give us a meeting place for the foreseeable future. We are also excited about the ministries Pastor Jocelito will be starting in the weeks ahead. The Lord has given him a burden for the lost poor and those who struggle with drug addiction. He is planning outreach ministries among the drug addicts in Vila Safira. This is an important ministry especially since this community has a huge drug problem and is the most dangerous area of Porto Alegre.
We have begun this work by faith and need to raise the needed resources to fund this church plant. The Lord has provided some special gifts that have enabled us to fund the past two months budgets. To continue to support this ministry we need to raise $650 per month. The feeding ministry accounts for $150 of this amount and the remaining $500 is to support Pastor Jocelito, to provide resources like Sunday school materials, Bibles, tracts, office supplies, and fund evangelistic outreach ministries in the community.
