Praise Report
June 12, 2009
Yesterday, I was a little discouraged. I have been dealing with discouragement off and on for a few weeks. I went to the prayer room at my church to spend some time in the word and in prayer. I was reading in Isaiah and I came across a passage in chapter 41 that was a blessing. The prophet was giving encouragement to God's people. He especially had in view the future Babylonian captivity and how the Lord would restore His people.
In Isaiah 41:17-20 the prophet prophesies that the Lord will provide water and shade for His people as they return from captivity to the promised land. As they are discouraged and struggling He will meet them and provide for them. When they seek water and there is none and their tongue is parched the Lord will intervene and provide abundantly for them. This way they would know that the Lord had done it. As, I read this I began to pray this passage and I was encouraged that our needs would be met. Within the hour one of our supporters called and shared how the Lord had led her to provide the remaining funds needed for the church plant in Bom Jesus!
What a blessing to see the Lord answer our prayers and provide for His church. We still have many needs but we trust that He will meet them all for the glory of Christ. I hope that sharing this will be an encouragement to you.
