Prayer Need

Yesterday, I shared in a blog post how I have been dealing with discouragement for several weeks. I shared how the Lord spoke to me through a passage in Isaiah. He then answered one of our prayers and provided the remaining resources to fund our church plant in Bom Jesus. This was very exciting and it encourages me that the Lord will meet the rest of our needs.
Since February we have been running a deficit each month which has been getting worse. Overall this year giving is up, but so are our expenses. In March we began two new church plants in faith. As a result we are behind where we need to be by $5000. Sometimes, I allow my focus to shift from Christ to our needs. I dwell on the churches and their members, for whom we have committed to provide for basic ministry needs as well as food, medicine, etc. When this happens discouragement is the result.
We need the Lord to provide the $5000 to cover the current shortfall. Ultimately, we need Him to expand our monthly support base so that we can consistently meet our expenses. We have partners for the church plant in Bom Jesus for the next 12 months, but we still need to raise $500 per month for the church plant in Vila Safira. Finally, our family support is just below $1000 per month so, we need partners to provide another $1000 per month.
As you can see, focusing on these needs can lead to discouragement. On the contrary focusing on our great and sovereign Lord who created and sustains all things leads to hope and trust in Him. Please pray that our focus would remain on the Lord and that He would meet these needs according to His perfect will.

The Lord has already provided $1000 of the $5000 we are praying for. Praise Him! Thank you for your prayers and support.

The Lord provided an additional $800 today. We are only $3200 away from the needed $5000 to cover the shortfall for the first half of the year. Also, promised monthly support it up over $600 in the past 6 weeks. Thanks for the prayers. God bless.
