Update From the Church in Vila Cefer
June 15, 2009
I got this update from Pastor Claudio who leads our church plant in the community of Vila Cefer. I thought I would share it.
Some of the adjacent neighborhoods to our church do not have Bible preaching churches and we desperately want to reach out to them. One such neighborhood is Jardin Carvalho which has about 30,000 inhabitants. Our church is working to extend the Gospel into this community.
Food Distribution in Vila Cefer
During the month of May many activities took place at our church. We distributed the food kits which granted many the opportunity to hear the Gospel message. That day 3 people turned to Christ. We also held the “Friendship Tea” at the neighborhood association building. Over 60 unbelieving women were in attendance. Several of them went forward expressing a desire for Jesus. As we continue to reach out to them please join us in prayer that they will make a commitment to Jesus Christ.
Many are the challenges in our state, which is in the least evangelized region of Brazil. Join us in prayer as we desire to see changes all around. We ask that you keep our family in prayer for spiritual, emotional and physical well being; for the leaders in the state; for the new converts; and for my upcoming travels. Also, our church is still waiting for City Hall to give us the approval to begin clearing the land that the Lord provided for our future building. Please pray that the Lord would move them to give the approval.
Thank you for your prayers. God bless.
