Third Ministry Update - Summer 09
July 30, 2009
Things are going very well on the trip so far. The past several days we have been taking care of the less glamorous side of ministry. We have had several meetings with the leadership here, the accountant, and others. All the things that go on behind the scenes for the ministry to function.
New believer sharing her testimony
Yesterday, Barbara, little Patrick and I went to the church in Vila Cefer for the feeding service. We had a short worship service and I was able to preach the Gospel to the families that had come to receive their food kit. All of our church plants have these services and the Lord has always blessed them. Last night a women who was born again 3 weeks ago asked to share a word. She briefly shared her testimony and told of how the Lord was already working in her life. She asked for prayer to find a job. We were able to provide her with a food kit and also warm clothing for her grandchildren.
Today, I was with Pastor Magioli at the local Christian bookstore. Thanks to our partners at Harvest International Missions we were able to purchase 100 Bibles for our church plants. This is a huge blessing. This morning we were also negotiating with the bookstore about a new ministry we want to begin. Since books are very expensive here and our pastors are working among the very poor it is impossible for them to buy resources. Our hope is to put together a basic book kit of 8-12 solid resources that we can give to each pastor we call. This will help them grow in grace and knowledge to better serve the church. I'll have more details about this soon. If you would like to help us provide resources for our pastors please let me know.
Thanks for all the prayers and support we have been receiving lately. We are grateful for you all.
