Wonderful Testimonies From Bom Jesus

July 31, 2009

Yesterday I received three testimonies from the church plant in Bom Jesus.  Originally I was not going to post these but the Lord is doing such great things I want to share them for His glory.  These testimonies are representative of the people we are reaching and the types or communities we are planting churches in.

This family is in a very bad situation.  Ana's husband died of AIDS on July 26th.  Their only source of income was his very small pension which they have now lost.  She is HIV positive and the children most likely are as well.  Pastor Bira visited them after her husband died and again on July 29th.  During this visit she repented and accepted Christ.  The church has been ministering to them and has provided them with a food kit and other assistance.

Luis came to the church to do some repairs.  Pastor Bira witnessed to him and Luis accepted Christ.  Since then he has been faithfully attending worship services and Bible studies.  He is being discipled for baptism and church membership.  He serves around the church as an usher and in other ways.  The church has been able to help his family with food.

Rosa is a new believer.  She has been faithful in the church and along with three of her daughters is being discipled for baptism and church membership.  She is in the process of getting legally married so that she will be living according to God's plan for the family.  Recently, her boyfriend was hurt at work and they lost their only source of income.  He was very skeptical of Christians, but thanks to her testimony and the witness of the church in the community he has been receptive and often attends worship services with the family.
